Meet the Founder/Director of École Française since 1988, the very first in Gainesville, Florida.
The introduction of French language education in the After School Programs leading to participation in Le Congrès de la Culture Française en Floride, is the brain-child of École Française, Gainesville Founder/ Director, Judy Dharini Charudattan, who is also Teacher of French with Blue Wave ASP at P.K.Yonge Developmental Research School, Univ. of Florida, Macs Charter School, Micanopy, and Alachua County Public Schools. She has received several awards including the National Honor of DOROTHY LUDWIG "Excellence in Teaching Award-Elementary" from the 'American Association of Teachers of French' and with it the national title of 'Elementary French Teacher of the Year-2002'. As a foreign language educator, Judy Charudattan was inducted into the 'Teachers' Hall of Fame' by the Florida Foreign Language Association Inc. in the 34th Annual Conference held in October 2002, 'In recognition of her personal commitment, dedication and invaluable contributions to the field of foreign language education'.
Learning is a pleasure with her innovative methodology in foreign language education. Over 1600 young students have graduated from her program for the past 24 years and is continuing to grow!
Other foreign language programs have followed her ideas and foot steps in making them fun and enriching.
She is like a beacon light, giving guidance to other language educators through her local, state-wide, national and international presentations in AATF conferences and publications, since 1991, including the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages).
